Cre8ive Art
My name is Megan, I titled my artwork, “Turtle.” I sketched a turtle with big eyes, a shell with swirls, and also small legs to make it look cute. First I used a pencil to make an outline of my turtle. Then I added more details like, the eyes, the swirls on its shell, and also the ground below it. Then I decided to add even more detail to the eyes and the shell, on the eyes I added lines and on the bottom of the shell I added circles. At first I was going to leave the eyes without the lines, but then I thought it would add more detail so I did do it. I chose to make this because it looked cute and I wanted to try more art projects with eyes so I could practice them. It was challenging to me because I never could really do eyes, but then I thought they turned out pretty good. I learned how to make the ground have more texture also. My main art element I focused on was texture. I did this by adding jagged and uneven lines to the ground to make it look like it has texture. I think my art project is good because I took risks like on the eyes and on the ground.

I focused on taking risks, the fourth studio habit, on my project called, "Winter Wonderdots." The first step I did was plan and try this technique on a separate sheet of paper, I only practiced once before I started my final copy. I planned where everything would go and I put some dots together to see how they looked and If people could tell what it was suppose to be. The art element I used for this project is space, shape, and color. This technique is called stippling. I just thought of this idea out of the blue. I learned that there can be a big difference between which markers you use.
I am currently working on a piece that is called, "Watermelon." I did the Art Studio Habit number two, "I developed my art making skills." I chose this because I learned to use the blending stub and make the watermelon look 3-D on the paper. I think some of the elements I mostly used are shape, value, and texture. I used shape because it looks like the watermelon are 3-D. I used value because I shaded so it looks like they have shadow. I used texture because it is all going the same way on the red part of the watermelon, so it makes it so it does not look smooth or bumpy, just so it all flows the same way. These are all the different things that make my drawing unique in its own way.
The artist, George Morland, inspires meas an artist. He drew a piece of art called, " Foxhunting in Hilly Country." It has horses and is in the snow, he has a tree that is bent over a little and is older looking. He inspires me because he has a lot of nature in it. With the horses, hills, and snow. He used an art medium of oil on a canvas. The elements of art that he uses most strongly is value, shape, and line. He used these elements on the horses, sky, tree, and on the ground. These are the reasons this artist inspires me.
